The staff at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center continues to monitor recommendations by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). The latest guidelines published on March 15, 2020, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.
Based on this recommendation, the Guadalupe has canceled upcoming events in the Guadalupe Theater including:
The Big Squeeze (March 22)
Angry Hour (March 26)
Celebrando Tradiciones (First Fridays) April 3 and May 1
West Fest Urban Takeover (First Fridays) April 3 and May 1
Our Galería Guadalupe and office hours remain open Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Academy music and dance classes are canceled this week through March 20. We are following local school district’s recommendations.
As we have learned, large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. This recommendation is made to reduce introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection in communities already affected by the virus.
We will make a decision regarding future events beyond May 10 based on CDC and local authority recommendations. Please check back on our website for updates.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay informed! We thank you for your understanding.
