GUADALUPE ACADEMY CLASSES ONLINE
GRUPO ANIMO ONLINE
The Guadalupe Traditional Music Academy encompasses the history, artistic practice, musical theory and cultural impact of traditional styles such as Mariachi, Huasteco, Trio, and the Texas-based genre of Conjunto through 8 mariachi classes lead by Maestros of Mariachi Azteca de América (novice/intermediate/advanced) in an effort to mentor generations of ambassadors for the traditional musical genres of our culture. ¡Sigue la tradicion!
Students learn basics of flamenco dance including rhythms, footwork, and armwork. Intermediate level classes progress to more challenging technique and choreography. Students develop coordination, stamina, posture, grace and discipline and will be introduced to different regions in traditional Mexican Folklorico dance. All classes are subject to change.
Grupo Animo is the free resident youth theatre company of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. Under the guidance and mentorship of a professional teaching artist and director, company members will learn about the history of Latino & multi-cultural American Theatre, develop skills in all disciplines of stage performance as well as playwriting and technical theatre, and produce a final theatrical production in the Guadalupe Theater. Because of the current pandemic, we are currently having Grupo Animo online. Click below for more information!
